childrens book called TO THE CITY a story and picture book prepared by JOHN Y BEATY published by Saalfield in 1933, it is 32 pages, and has some great large black and white images.
most of the images seem to be of Chicago but not all -- with the Chicago river with bridge up, boats tied to wharf, wholesale market, elevated railroad cars, lindbergh beacon, fireman putting out a fire and a firetruck, linemen working on pole, rivet man, cars parked on roofs, American Legion band, apartment buildings, play ground, zoo in Lincoln Park, a photo of a wading pool in San Francisco, building the Century of Progress buildings, bank vault, gas station with METRO & Mobil glass top pumps, in a Sinclair garage, and the smokestacks of a electric power house, and the back of the book with a great shot of cars and a bus going over a large bridge.
