Description
Vintage Hinsdale, Illinois, Centennial 1873-1973 Souvenir Keychain. Round silver colored metal medallion suspended from a ball chain type keychain. The chain is about 4" long. (photo 4) The medallion is about 1 5/16" in diameter.Doubled sided design.
The front has "Hinsdale Centennial" arching around the top of the medal, with an engraving of the Hinsdale Memorial Building (home of the Village Hall, the Public Library, and other village offices) and the year "1973" with a "shadowy 8" behind and slightly above the "9," so the founding year and Centennial Year are both included. (photos 1, 3, & 5)
The reverse side has the Centennial logo (a young-ish tree, leafing out) with the motto, "Reaching for the Future . . . Rooted in the Past" to the lower right of the tree. "Hinsdale Centennial 1873-1973" arches around the lower edge of the medal on this side. (photos 2, 4, & 6)
The hole for the chain is positioned at what would typically be the left "side" of the front design. That location disturbed less of the design on the front and back. (photos 1 & 2)
I believe this key chain was never used, as it still seems pretty shiny (no dulling from knocking around in a purse or pocket). I suggest using the enlarge tool to get a better look.
The quarter in some of the photos (3, 4, 5, & 6) is there only to show relative size of the key ring. It is NOT part of the auction.
I have some other Hinsdale Centennial items listed, and can combine shipping for multiple winning bids.
Please inspect all photos carefully and ask any questions before bidding. Smoke free, pet free home.
